Why believe in Hospice Care Having dedicated the majority of my career in nursing to hospice care, I have had the opportunity to witness the truly wonderful services hospice staff provide every day. To these caring professionals (nurses, social workers, aides, chaplains and physicians) hospice care is more than a career. It is a life’s mission to ensure comfort for dying, grant wishes during the last months of life, and provide compassion and support for loved-ones experiencing loss. I consider it an honor to be given the opportunity to support the caring individuals who provide such an important service every day.

Why believe in Hospice Care I have had the amazing opportunity to be a part of a hospice organization for six years. I feel I am truly blessed to work with such extraordinary individuals that dedicate their lives to caring and supporting individuals in such a difficult time. The care, dignity and compassion that the nurses, aides, chaplains and social workers provide to each and every patient and their families is heartwarming. What I have learned over six years is that this is not a job to these individuals, it is a calling. Hospice is such a wonderful service for the patients and their families. The comfort and guidance provided by hospice is invaluable. Having been a family member of a hospice patient, I have had the experience firsthand to see how wonderful this service is and now I am fortunate enough to support those who directly provide care to patients.
